1925 Rickenbacker Brougham.
Made in Detroit Michigan.
Eddie Rickenbacker first made his name in the auto industry as a race car driver who competed in four Indianapolis 500's prior to WWI.With the onset of WWI, Rickenbacker joined the US Army where he became an ace fighter pilot who went on to shoot down 26 enemy aircraft.
In 1922, Barney Everitt approached Rickenbacker with the intent of using his name for the new company that he was about to found. In return, Rickenbacker was made vice-president of sales.
Rickenbacker's were considered to be very innovative cars for the period. They produced the first mid-priced cars that came with four-wheel brakes and they had less motor vibration than other cars as there was a flywheel at either end of the engine. The engine that powered the car was a 218 cubic inch inline 6-cylinder motor capable of 58HP.
This car sat in a barn in Maine for almost 40 years before int underwent a complete restoration.
