1931 LaSalle 345A Series Coupe.
Made in Detroit Michigan.
In 1927, General Motors conceived the LaSalle brand to fill a gap been Cadillac and Buick and produced cars under that name until 1940. There were a total of 12 different body styles available built by either Fisher Body or Fleetwood Metal Body. LaSalle built the first mass produced cars to which Dupont's new fast drying paints. They quickly emerged as a trend setting automobile and was considered as the most fashionable American automobile of its day.
The LaSalle 345A was powered by a 353 cubic inch, V-8 motor capable of 95HP and was hooked up to a 3-speed, manual transmission with overdrive.
Almost fifty years ago, the current owner of this car used it to drive his wife out on their first date.
