1927 Rolls-Royce Phantom.
Made in Derby England and Springfield Massachusetts.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom was the replacement for the Sliver Ghost which was wrapping up a 20 year production run.
Rolls-Royce built the chassis and mechanical portions of the car at their factory in Derby England. The owner would select a coach builder to construct and fit the body to the chassis. Brewster & Company of New York built 28 different body styles for the Phantom. The body of this car was one of 20 tourer bodies that they built.
The Roll-Royce Phantom had a 7668cc (468 cubic inch) straight 6-cylinder (two groups of three cylinders) with a single valve cover.
In 1927, this car was purchased and delivered to a lady who lived in San Francisco. Originally, the coachwork was produced as a Brewster Lonsdale Sedan. In 1933, the lady had the coachwork changed to give the car a more sporty Derby Tourer appearance. It was not uncommon during this period for high end cars to have their bodies re-fitted sometimes up to two or three times.
