Porsche manufactured 91 of these 962's from 1984 through 1991. Sixteen of those were factory team cars and the rest were sold to customers. Many more 962's were built by private teams, who in some instances, improved upon the original design. The cars were easy to drive and very reliable.
Below is a brief list of 962 accomplishments.
Four wins at the 24 Hours of LeMans. Six wins at the 24 Hours of Daytona. Four wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring. Five FIA Sports Car Championships. Four IMSA Championship titles.
This car was owned by a Bill Lee-Davey, a privateer owner. Over a two-year period, the car finished 8th at Spa and 6th at Sandown. After the car was retired in 1990, it was purchased and eventually restored by a British motor sports enthusiast who and the car repainted in its Jagermeister livery.
