Dick Bown was a Northwest racing legend who raced at tracks all over the western US during the '50's and '60's. Racing records were poorly kept during this period of time. In 1971, a magazine speculated that Dick Bown had won more races than Richard Petty had entred.
Bown once raced this 1964 Chevy Chevelle before he finally moved onto another car. The car was powered by a 327 CI Chevy V-8. It was built onto a 1957 Chevy frame which was preferred at the time because of the cross member construction. This car was discovered watching away in a filed near Yakima before it was finally rescue and restored.
