The IROC Series made its debut during the winter of 1973/74 with a four race series featuring drivers from several different styles of auto racing. They used Porsche 911's that first season. The cars powered by Carrera 3.0L RSR motors. Representing Formula 1 was Emerson Fittipaldi racing this car. Race #1 ended in a DNF due to a leaking fuel tank. Race #2, Fittipaldi started from the pole and finished 3rd place finish. Race #3, ended in a 3rd lace finish. Due to other commitments, Fittipaldi was unable to make race #4.
