1939 Graham Combination Coupe. Made in Evansville Indiana.
The Graham Combination Coupe went by the nickname "Sharknose". Its forward leaning grille and fenders gave it implied appearance of speed even while it was parked. The automotive press loved the styling of the car but was too radial for the customers of the period. As a result, the car sold poorly.
The Graham Combination Coupe had a supercharged, 218 cubic inch, straight 6-cylinder motor from a Continental that was capable of 116HP. Top speed was 90 MPH.
The Combination Coupe was produced from 1938 to 1940. Over 8000 of these cars were built during that period of time.
The Graham brothers began the Graham-Paige Motor Company in 1928 after buying into the failed Paige Motor Company. Graham-Paige was able to survive the Great Depression but struggled they through the post depression economic difficulties. The company eventually failed in 1941.
